Nature & Escape

"Zimbabwe's Best-Kept Secret"

About Nyanga

Where Zimbabwe catches its breath. Nyanga, nestled in the Eastern Highlands, is a world away from the safari circuit — a landscape of misty mountains, plunging waterfalls, pine forests, and trout-filled rivers. This is slow travel at its finest: think log fires, morning hikes to ancient ruins, and afternoon tea with views that stretch to Mozambique. Perfect for wellness seekers, remote workers craving stillness, and anyone who needs nature's reset button.

Best Time to Visit

Year-round destination. May–August: crisp, clear days (cold nights — bring fleece). September–October: warm and ideal for hiking. November–March: green season — the waterfalls are at their fullest and the landscape is emerald green.

Getting There

Nyanga is a 3-hour drive from Harare via Mutare (or 3.5 hours via the direct route through Nyanga village). The roads are paved and in good condition. You'll want your own vehicle to explore the waterfalls and viewpoints — hire a 4x4 for the best access to remote trails.
